Yep, been there, done that. But most of the
time, perfection takes time.
My wife (married her in '67) and my E10m (bought it
new in '73) are two of the few major things I've ever had in my life that
someone else hadn't already had first. But I think I've gotten more
enjoyment out of the E10m.
She also has a few choice words once in a while. Especially when she has to
walk around the two C-185's setting in the basement. One of these
days I'm going to get both of them back together and running with Alltrax
control. Maybe then I can start on a couple E15's or the
B-145 setting out back behind the shop, or finish converting the Model
411 Grasshopper to electric power.
But she keeps complaining about the kitchen remodel
job I still haven't finished after a couple years trying. Ya just can't
please 'em.

Subject: Re: (ET) Broken again
Maybe we should start another thread about men vs. women.
Another difference - my wife accuses me of having "screw with it till its
broke" disease. So does my brother-in-law by coincidence. I bet
its common to members of this group.
The main symptom is a desire to
get a repair or construction job from "OK" to "perfect", by doing things like
making sure the screw slots are all lined up or trying to use the exact
factory color coding on a rewiring job. The result of this little extra
effort towards perfection is that the screws snap off or the wire is
unavailable so the rusty machine sits in the garage (her side of course) for
months. My wife sees this "screw with till its broke" syndrome as being
exclusively a male "problem." Sometimes she substitutes another word for
"screw" to should her level of utter
dismay.
