Returning to your basic question, I'd suggest something simple and
human-based....

Make sure the batteries get a good full charge after their last use in
the winter and top off the water as needed.

Leave it unplugged and the main disconnect switch turned off. This
ensures nothing can fail and overcharge the batteries.

Every ~6 weeks plug it in and run the charger for a few hours on the
stock timer and then unplug again. Somewhere around the middle of summer
and again late fall check the water level and fill as needed. (The
cooler the storage temperatures, the slower the self-discharge rate.)

When you see the first big snow forecast, give it another boost charge.
Note the batteries may take some exercise to fully "wake up". Enjoy
plowing.
