(ET) E-20 Switching to Reverse While Moving Forward

Steve & Carol Welch wrote that they did a fair amount of direction changes with the Alltrax with no harm. Ralph & Elaine Vogan, whose schematic I used to setup the dual pots, wrote -I switch from forward to reverse and back all the time with ether the foot pedal or cruise on, in LL, L or (D1 at a low speed).  I do that in tight places around trees and shrubs because of the instant direction change.  The Alltrax DC 300 hasn't been harmed by this action; it seems to apply motor braking then reverse.  Something must have come loose from the instant direction change, or a fuse died. The comments gave me courage, and I thanked them in earlier postings. After switching to my DR lawn mower and completing the mowing, I went to work on the E-20.  The cause of the failure was a defective seat switch. I bypassed the switch and the main motor ran OK. Now I will not use the E-20 until the switch is replaced because it is too dangerous to operate without the safety switch under the seat. We can keep our grass cut with the DR until the switch is replaced and the new blades are individually balanced to match each individual mower motor. This balancing may not be possible with the new blades but I will try. Thanks to all who responded.
