(ET) Fw: Mower blades!

Most of the mower blades for my E10M which I have gotten for years have come with a center hole just a little too large. I don't remember the measurements. Fortunately, my son-in-law, a mechanic, found that the tubing used in an auto radio antenna was exactly the right diameter and thickness to make a perfectly fitting bushing for these blades. I still have the leftover tubing, from which I cut a section whenever needed. Look into this to see if one will fit your blades.

Don't weld. Just make a bushing that is ever so slightly thinner than the blade. The friction discs should work OK.

I have been toying around with the idea of purchasing a set of Wheel Horse 14-1/2" mower blades, $ 22.98 @ Glens surplus. These blades have a center whole of ¾" and would need to be modified. I am thinking of filling in the whole with my mig welder and then re-drilling for the 5/16" that our decks use.

Has anyone else been successful in this type of thing?
