The weak cells may have just gotten way out of balance thanks to 
insufficient equalization, which could be caused by a low-output charger.  

Or they could have been flaky from the factory.  I once found a dead cell 
in 
a brand new battery - it was apparently partly shorted, and would self-
discharge in about 24 hours.  

You can try a long, slow equalizing charge - long as in days to weeks, 
slow 
as in an amp or two at most.  But if the SG is that low now, I doubt that 
you'll ever get any kind of decent capacity out of them.  Probably best to 
pay a visit to your battery dealer.
