I've had similar happen twice with my I-5.

Once was a bad battery connection, the other was a bad connection on the
disconnect. Oh wait.. there was a third almost similar symptoms... corroded
connections on the strap that runs down the middle of the console, I can't
remember at the moment if it runs alongside, in front of or behind the
steering shaft. I'm thinking behind.

Moral.... check ALL connections.  Also be aware some of the small wires may
be getting brittle, they could be broken inside the insulation.
