Re: (ET) It moves!

Dave, Robert, check with any equipment rental place also, most scissor lifts are 24 or 36vdc with 4 or 6 6vdc batteries, there will have a source for them, and/or look in the yellow pages for Interstate battery, Trojan, Exide, etc batteries suppliers also places that sell golf carts. I have 4 scissor lifts in the yard that I'm reworking now, 3 are 36vdc and the other is 24vdc. I have a dealer in Van Wert Ohio and one in Defiance Ohio that I check with and get his year old pulls from golf carts an buy them for about $20-25 each, I've heard of some down to $15 ea, I have bought a whole skid full (18 batteries) for $50 and reworked all but 2 by flushing them with distilled water and refill with 1250H water/acid an run thru a charge/discharge cycle about 3 time an they come back to life, good luck, enjoy

I checked a number of golf courses nearby - they're
using gas-powered carts; what's up with that? :-)
But I didn't think of an industrial place - there's a
big forklift servicing outfit near here, maybe they
work with smaller equipment that uses golf car
batteries.

Try a place that deals with scissor lifts. A number of models use
batteries of approx. the right size but I do not remember the most common
voltages used.
