"Sounds" like a
bad bearing in the motor.....or input of the tranny.
Pull the motor
out (put the tractor on wheel ramps) and spin it on the workbench....you should
be able to tell if it's the motor bearing then or
brushes....
Be carefull
taking it apart....brushes will spring inwards and can get broken off when
removing the armature.
Bearings are
readily available by the numbers on the race towards the outside but a puller is
required.
Start there --
"You can do it, we can tell you how".....

noise coming from the drive unit. If you take the trans out of gear the
noise continues when the motor is powered. Any suggestions or has anyone
had this problem? Also while loading the tractor the motor seemed to loose
power and locked-up. Rocking the tractor seemed to unlock it.
Previous owner said that he thought it needed new brushes.
Help!
