Re: (ET) Batteries

Find a local place that only sells batteries and see if they have any good used batteries. I'm on good terms with my local place and he keeps an eye out for good used golf cart batteries. A lot of people will replace a whole set of batteries when one gets damaged or is otherwise short lived. I pay $25 each which may be a little high, but he completely checks then out and guarantees them for 30 days so I can work them some. Generally they are less than a year old. I've tried local golf courses for old batteries, but that didn't pan out, though some folks have had luck doing that. It all depends on who you talk to.

In my book there is an added benefit to using used batteries - you are 'pre-cycling'; ie: saving a useful item from an early death (hmm, did I just coin a term?).

Hi All,

Well, I have to get new batteries for my E-141 – 6 x 12 volt rated at 90 amp hour – 20 hour rate. I have looked at new batteries from a golf cart place and I nearly passed out with sticker shock. Does anyone know where to find cheaper or re-conditioned batteries, or any other fiendish tricks for getting cheaper power? I have tried calling recycling places but they react as if I was asking for uranium.

Once again thanks for your past advice – very helpful indeed.
