Re: (ET) Mower Rollers Wanted
I have implemented an "improvement" that was posted on this forum some
time ago, and am pleased with the results.
Replace 2 of the rollers with 3/4" PVC pipe cut to length. The pipe will
not touch the ground and is only used as a spacer on the mounting bar for
the full size rollers. You will end up with a roller at each end and one
in the middle, and tow gaps where the rollers are missing. The deck seems
to turn better in this configuration. It's also quite a bit cheaper to
replace 3 instead of 5 rollers.
Stay Charged!

My local ACE hardware has hard black plastic (ABS or Delran) roller that
work fine for years after minor modification. They are not solid; just a
simple molded part. The hole size is too small; you get to drill it out.
Being plastic, you get to drill it out OVERSIZE as it keeps collapsing back
down, but when you are done they work fine. They are a lot lighter than
the
others, and that may help the lift a little too.

Hi All,
I'm looking for the 5 (actually need 15) trailing roller wheels for the 42"
front-mount mowers. I think I'd prefer wood, as the rubber ones I bought
through this site in the Spring completely disintegrated in all of 20 hours
of mowing. Local and regional Toro dealers/distibutors say you can't get
them....I'm almost ready to turn some hickory on the lathe.
Thanks,
Tom
