The replacement switch that I got from Harold looks like it has a fusible
link on it.

Yup. The factory disconnects are old and crud. Remember if you replace them
you need to put in some sort of fuse, as the old ones had a fusable link in
there as well.
Also check out your contactors; a loose wire will cause them to run
hot=less
power.
