Steves said: “check the shunt connections.” I used copper nuts on the copper standoff posts and wrench tightened them. That old controller just went wild and spit out too much current with the failed field control – I think? The first bad controller set the original thin copper shunt ablaze. The replacement shunt stills looks OK but I will not use it again. Stay tuned and I’ll try to let you know what the final answer is or was.
