RE: (ET) one speed, no power E20
Perry,
I too have a similar problem going on my E20, but have at least 3 speeds
functioning. My band resistors do get hot when I use tractor for a
period of time. I have been following the replies to your original mail
and would like to see if someone more enlightened then I could be more
specific in how to trace down the cause of this.

Subject: (ET) one speed, no power E20
Took my E20 out to mow, but I have only one speed.
There is no throttle, tractor runs at only 1 speed, and there is not a
lot of power. The speed is not the slowest, but gets really bogged down
on any incline. Not usable, really.
Ok, I have read through the entire archives, probably many messages more
than once, and I have tried to check what I could...
But I still need help.
I have visually inspected everything I can. No blown fuses, board 4
looks fine. Board 3 had what appeared to be a bad varistor, so I
replaced it.
I cannot see any burnt wiring, or any other problem areas.
I have checked all the LARGE Solenoids, they all seem to work.
I checked the foot throttle, seems to be working fine. (Also have tried
manually pressing the switches inside.)
Cruise Control does not work, but it never has....
In the row of switches in the top, next to card 4 & 3...
First two switches activate when key is turned. Third switch activates
when throttle is depressed. Fourth switch, (FW) never activates, from
what I can tell. I have replaced it, but the result is the same. If I
manually press the fourth switch (while turning the motor, of course) it
still does nothing.
I have checked all the wiring running to the motor.
If anyone can offer advice....
I am not an electrical engineer, but can use a meter, and have a general
understanding of things.
I have two working tractors, an E12s and an E12m, one runs ok and the
other I did the Alltrax addition. This E20 I kind of wanted to keep as
an older "pure" version, so I do not really want to put an Alltrax in
it. (not to mention the expense....)
Thank you in Advance for any help you can offer.
