Ah the problems of the old ET. I thought I understood it pretty well....
I was having steering problems. I checked all the gears and linkages. Too tight, but I couldn't find the problem. Then I backed up the tractor a few inches while the hood was open for charging. What? The batteries were going up and down when I turned the steering wheel. The front battery compartment had partially collapsed, and the nice plasic tray hid the fact from the top. The compartment was literally riding on the steering gear! I was raising and lowering two of those heavy batteries when I turned the wheel.
I'm sure in another few years I'll find another new problem.
Next time I hope I have my full floating (NOT ON THE FRONT CASTERS) deck complete. With pictures I hope.
