I agree. I bought a Soneil 36 for my ER-8 and for my 48 volt scooter.

I'm still a fan of the Soneil 36-volt charger I am using on my E12.  Small,
automatic, reasonably priced.

Oh, and it works on either 50 or 60 Hz supply, and any input voltage from
100 to
230.  I think someone was looking for a unit compatible with both North
American
and European grids recently.
