Oh what a difference one word can make......

They say that they are the only *independent* maker of batteries still
manufacturing in North America.

I can believe that to be true, depending on what independent means in this
context.

This is news to me.  AFAIK, US Battery, Trojan, and East Penn (at least)
all have manufacturing plants in the US.
