Could someone explain the difference between 2-link and 4-link chains?  

I have chains from the local garden supply center.  A few years back, I 
took 
them my tire size.  The counterman said "economy, or good quality?"  I 
said 
"good quality," and he handed me a heavy cloth bag.  The chains work 
great.  
But I have no idea whether they are 2- or 4-link.
