Re: (ET) Re: lift strap



At best I'm a poor sewer and have  successfully used pop rivets to repair
lift straps.

Try a 1/8" rivet with two 1/8" washers.  A pick makes holes in the strap,
push the rivet through with washers on each side of the strap, pinch the
washers with pliers while working the rivet gun.  Washers 'grab' the rivet
so as to keep it from pulling through the strap.  I used 5 rivets.

This works.  Let me know if this needs more explanation. Jack
