RE: (ET) Laser Mowing Deck

The biggest one I ever used was a Spectra-Physics of a mere 5W... enough
to give a dandy burn.

They weld with 50W CO2 lasers... One must avoid dry grass.

Subject: (ET) Laser Mowing Deck

All,

I just wanted to inform you guys about a development I learned about
a little while ago: Wolf Garten, a german company, has patented a
laser powered mowing deck. See
http://www.wolf-garden.com/public_uk/home/hot_detail.hbs?article_id=96867674
1&SKIP=0

I think this would be the ideal replacement for our ET mower decks,
but .... well I assume they need something like a 100W laser to cut
a 40" wide path and when I look at how much power is consumed by industrial
lasers in that category I realize that it is quite a bit more than what our
batteries can provide

Anyhow, any laser specialists in the group?

Markus
