Larry, I agree,  I till a lot also, IHMO, the top speed in LL is about 
1/2 the lowest speed in L (on an e12)  L is too fast even for weeding 
and if the tiller hits hard ground it will drive the tractor.  Of 
course, for the first pass in the spring, I usually use th lowest LL 
speed - works for me.

wombat  BTW, for a shorter turning radius,  wheel brakes would help but 
you should increase the front wheels turning angle
