Likely killed one of the rectifiers.Personally, I have never thought
that using the charger to operate the tractor without batteries is a good
idea.
I have seen the result you now have more than once. The PIV of those
diodes is marginal at best for the job they are supposed to be doing.
{Charging batteries. } The voltage spikes that result due to no batteries
present to cushion the spikes just allows the issue to surface sooner.
