In a previous note on this subject, the instructions said to turn the blade retaining screw "all the way in".  You must use a longer screw so that the head of the screw is not touching the hub.  Then you must push against the head of the screw, not the hub itself. 

If you pull from the top of the hub next to the motor shaft and push on the bottom of the hub, you are basically trying to compress the hub itself.  The hub has a blind bore in it for the motor shaft.  You must use the screw to get through the clearance hole in the bottom of the hub and into the threaded hole in the bottom of the motor shaft.  Increase the length of the screw as the hub comes off the shaft.
