Re: (ET) RE: ET mowing

Joe, as long as the speed control for each motor was included in each
motor
direction control then it would be the same,, on the Exmark ZTR's there is
a
small gas shock mounted to each controller lever to smooth out the pulses
( you
can take your hand off of one lever while driving to scratch an itch or
sneeze
for instance without a wild response in direction ) the controls are very
simple ,, center position is stop/park, for forward you just push both
levers
forward the farther you push the lever the faster you go and vice versus
for
reverse, no need for brakes,,it's so stable that I've mowed hillsides that
were
difficult to even walk up, it's an easy, natural, comfortable driving
machine,
it certainly puts the fun into mowing or whatever your doin' with the
machine.....a vehicle parking brake is neccessary on these units.....

Anton,, while true that you have to have the engine wound up somewhat
(full
throttle is not neccessary) to get a decent response from the hydrostatic
pump
it's actually insignificant as there is very little that you'd need to use
low/part throttle for, it's actually of NO concern to me as that machine
will
outhandle/outmow ANYthing on wheel OR foot,, it would be nice however if
the
pumps were electric driven to reduce noise fatigue from the ICE but you'd
still
have the blade noise to contend with,,,also you can run them ALL day on
one
fillup and even refill it ANYWHERE in a few minutes after engine cooldown
(for
fire safety),, ya sure can't say that about Electrics,, also an electric
powered
ZTR may be significantly heavier than a ICE mower, reducing the online
hours/range and needlessly tearing up the turf (especially on tight radius
turns) and
compacting the soil,, none of which is a positive accomplishment.....Geo
