nice thing about using chains or belts is that it usually provides the 
"weakest link" in your driveline when somethin's gotta give,, 
faster/easier/cheaper 
than changing other driveline parts as long as you bring spares,,,and 
that's 
what tractor pulling is great for ,,,showing you where the "weakest link" 
is in 
your setup (sometimes it's ...YOU,,,really,,,lol),,as stated earlier,,if 
you 
size and utilize the proper style chain or belt with MATCHING HI QUALITY 
(not 
chinzy stamped steel with spot welds, avoid cast too) parts and use proper 
tensioners and everything is mounted square then you should have very few 
problems with either setup,,they are used successfully everday in many 
high 
performance motorsports (why isn't it called 
enginesports,,???,,LOL),,,they can take a 
lot of shock load if ya build it right...Geo
