(ET) chains and belts for pulling



Matt,,yes... roller chains and Vbelts are very commonly used to build 
pullers, use appropiate series quality chain or belts for the task,,use 
slack 
adjusters on the back side of the loop,, make sure you match belts to 
pulleys and 
that there's NO side to side runout, it has to run straight and true or 
you'll 
toss them or greatly shorten their longevity,, some guys have different 
sizes of 
sliding /or fixed sprockets or pulleys on a keyed shaft for "poorman's 
quick 
change ratios", if sized right for your application it should hold up to a 
LOT 
of abuse, make sure to carry a spare or two along with extra master 
links,, 
all chains and belts MUST be shielded radially 360* by .125 steel or .1875 
alum. the width of the chain or belt, securely anchored,,frame rails may 
be 
included as shielding...Geo
