RE: FW: (ET) Hitch adapter

When you don't have one, it is easy just to make one. I had the receiver
setting around. I also had an old hitch that I bolted to the draw bar of
my
ford tractor. Now I don't have to change balls around, just pull the pin
and put the receiver on something else. The receiver is also nice because
it get the tong of the trailer that much farther back for maneuvering in
real tight places. (before the receiver on the ford tractor, I ripped off a
tong jack on a pontoon trailer cranking it too tight to get it where it
needed to go). When I found the hitch also fit the snowmobile I had, it
just
made it more of a plus. Last year I had to run the rope for the toboggan
thru a hole in the motor compartment and tie it off to a motor mount. I
had
to make sure not to turn tight so the rope didn't get in the track. This
year, just throw on the hitch and loop the rope over the ball..

...wondering why you had to build one. I have a standard stock item ball
hitch
with 2 stabber mounts. In fact, the "ball" part of it bolts down to the
stabber
mount frame and is thus removable -- basically, the "ball" is the head of
the
bolt.

I've used my ball hitch to tow a >1ton industrial wood chipper.
