(ET) Snow, version 1.1

Well, it's snowing tonight. Started fast and hard. So I took the tractor up to the top of the hill.

Probably about an inch of snow on the ground, falling fast. Fired it up, and off I went. At the base of the hill there was a bit of ice.

Lesson 1: You will not move on ice. Forget it.

However I backed up and steered around it. Up the hill I went in LL. The blower did a very nice job; down to the asphalt. The wheels are mostly in the path of the blower; however the edges of the wheels are hitting snow. Note to self: swap the wheels inbound in the winter, outbound in the summer.

It did make it to the top. I turned it around, pointed it down, and set the brake. Then covered it with the tarp and put it on a charge. We'll see how well it goes down the hill tomorrow.

And up.

I think at this point the biggest mistake I could make would be to pack the snow down. At this temp, it would be ice and that would end the tractor's traction. Also need to think about how to reverse around; should always try to use the slopes for me and not against me.

It's fun. I think this has a good shot to do the job.
