Prescription for maximum regenerative braking:

1. Use an E-15. No foot pedal to worry with. Another reason I like the E-15 better than the E-20.
2. Disable the seat switch.  No lost braking on the first bounce.
3. Disable the brake switch.  No lost braking when you use the brake.
4. Use the same gear going down the hill that you use going up.
5. Set the hand throttle in the 3rd position, the position for the most efficient pulling AND braking.
        (The equivalent of 'cruise control' on the E-20, I think)

And you will go down the hill not much faster than you went up.
