Howdy, boys,
Last winter I got my JD 332 Rudolph Diesel stuck off the edge of the driveway (3-4 inch concrete lip, plus a deep snowbank, plus the blower was hung up). Even with chains, I just tore up concrete. No one else was up yet, so I hooked 15 feet of nylon rope to the e15, and tried to pull the JD out up hill on ice with NO chains. The JD ways around 1100# with the blower and weights. The e15 would spin the tires on the ice til it melted through, then climb back up on the ice and melt through again. I was making slow but sure progress, and looked back to see a pretty amazing sight: The ol' girl was pulling that tractor up hill, on ice with the rear, chained drive wheels of the diesel LOCKED!! I can only guestimate how much weight that represented, but I know it's a lot!
This year I have an electric blower for the e15 from the honorable Keith Steig, and the JD blower is for sale. The tractor would be, too, if we weren't using it for a Bio-diesel science project for my kids.

p.s. The absolute best source I've found for info on pollution comparisons between ev's in general and ICE's is Bob Brant's absolutely outstanding book "Build Your Own Electric Vehicle". Another must-have book is "Electric Boats", by Douglas Little. Expand your Electric Horizons!
