A one man test of direction can safely be
done. Disconnect the plug from the tractor, but
you did this before you got under the deck, right? With the plug out the motors are no longer
shorted out. The tractor shorts the motors to make them stop faster. Put your Elec-Trak gloves on. Now spin one of the blades. You should see
the other two blades move in the same direction. You might have to spin it fast
to see any movement. Good even movement between the blades may indicated acceptable
brushes and bearings, maybe. Also make sure you do not have the blades
on upside down! Dwight Dwight L. turning in the correct rotation. Due to dynamic braking, this is a 2 man
operation. I have seen many of motors either not wired correct on top
with the wires reversed. Andrew, as
I mentioned yesterday, I have the same cut problems as you do. Here are
the responses to your survey. I was thinking about this some more and I realized
that there are more questions I need to add to the survey. So to repeat
all the current questions plus the new ones: So now to a question: Does anyone out there use a large frame deck to
successfully cut the lawn in only one cut? And a survey: Can all those with large frame mowers tell me: 1) How
many cuts does it take to do your lawn? 2) Side or rear discharge? 3)
With or without baffles? 4) What is cut height (number of
spacers below front wheel caster bearing)? 5) What numbers and/or text
appears on the deck nameplate? 6) Is deck OEM? 7) If it came with the
ET, what is ET s/n? _______________________________________________ Elec-trak mailing list Elec-trak cosmos phy tufts edu https://cosmos.phy.tufts.edu/mailman/listinfo/elec-trak _______________________________________________ |
