Ok guys, this may be a dumb question, but I can't
figure out exactly where to check the voltage on my
charger. I've had it out and replaced both the diode
assembly and the capacitor. Hooked it back up, but
can't find any output voltage on any of the three
terminals on top (near the timer). Is this where I'd
check for voltage? I'm thinking there may be
something wrong with my charger other than the parts I
replaced.
The plate the diodes are pressed into is the positive output, the bolt on
the base that has two wires attached is the negative. The connector is in
the primary (110 volt) side of the charger only . The big posts near the
timer are for dropping the armature current in the drive motor for the
first two speeds. The flat strips are resistors. Be careful, they get hot
in use.
