A weight box should be relatively easy to make.  My E-15 came equipped with
one.  It mounts using the same kind of "spear" brackets as the front mower
bumper, and has a center mounted strap that is then bolted to the
underchassis hitch to retain it.  Mine has a large rectangular angle iron
bottom frame, but the remainder is made of plywood reinforced with light
angle (like metal shelving legs) in the corners.  It is adequately sturdy 
to
hold 12 patio blocks for additional weight.  I suspect it is not factory
equipment.

IMHO, wheel weights would be a better choice because it keeps the weight 
off
the chassis and wheel bearings.  I have never found any - are they a
standard size and bolt layout?

And for those applications requiring additional lateral stability, like
using a loader, the rear wheels can be put on "inside out" (valve stem on
the inside) to increase the track width.
