I have an E-20, with a cast caliper, and an I- 5, with the steel caliper.
Fifteen hundred pound of loaded wagon is a lot easier to stop with the I-5,
than the E-20. Just look at the difference in the 'swept area' of the two
designs.Yes, replacing the steel caliper brakes costs more, that just
replacing the pucks, on the cast caliper, design.But, if it absolutely,
positively, has to stop, the newer design is the ticket.
