(ET) E-15 batteries

 - Greetings -

I have no measurements on height of T-105 batteries or the box. Therefore
I suggests that Daniel put one battery in the underseat box and test the
clearance with a wooden yardstick or board. Note that the plywood under
the lid may extend down into the battery box a little distance.

One one set of batteries I had to cut the studs off to gain necessary
clearance. That was fine as I have had much more trouble with cables
having small ring terminals under the studs than with those having the
large clamps that go around the battery posts as on most any auto except
GM. The trouble is overheating, of course, and is due to the small contact
area and the tendency of the lead to yield and let the stud loosen even
tho the connection was tight at the outset.

My students in the electric car project have now melted a terminal on
each of three batteries. (That is part of the learning process.)

Daniel, I think the relays you mention are the reversing relay and the
field-weakening relay. Do they have blue coil structures? These seem
to be held together in part by the springs which also are a part of the
operation. If forward/reverse and higher speed range functions are okay,
you probably do not need to change them.
