Hi; I am new to this list and came upon it by chance so if I cover old
subject matter please disregard. Back in 1971 I started a lawn business to
mow for local hospitals and companies that had a problem with gas powered
mowers in their central garden areas. They couldn't get rid of the exhaust
sometimes for hours depending on weather conditions. I started with one
Elec-trak E15 and in two years was using four various models. In 1974 I
was
at the point of having so many problems with three of them that GE sent
out a
rep to try and straighten them out. He had limited success and finally
said
they would change out the complete electrical system but I would have to
pay
labor and shipping. This was unacceptable to me but they said considering
the
age and out of warranty this was the best they could do. Well, I got in
contact with someone at GE and he said to call Technical Service and talk
to
Bill (I don't have the number any longer). To make a long story short I
hauled all three to him and didn't have any major or troublesome problems
for
almost 10 years (my wife said he added 10 years to my life). He helped me
in
more ways than I can even remember. I was looking for a good trim mower
that
was battery powered and at the time Lawnboy made one. Bill converted 3 of
them to run off the Elec-trak for me and I ran these until the mid 80's
when
they were wore out. He built 2 for me out of parts at that time and I used
these until I quit the business in the early 90's. I traded them to Bill
for
some parts and maybe if you could contact him they may still exist. I know
he
had a lot of parts for them at that time. Ed
