(ET) spring startup

If bopping the control mounting plate under the hood (just in front of 
the steering wheel) makes something work, it is possible that one or 
more of the slip-on connectors has corroded and is not making a connec-
tion.  Try wiggling the wire + connector a smalkl amount.  It just may
begin making a good contact.
