I think some in this discussion may be confusing the use of gears with the
use
of the speed control?? I didn't take any of the previous msgs to advocate
not
using all the gears but rather cautioning against using the lower speed
settings which are achieved by sending current to the resistors generating
heat
and wasting battery power.
