Used batteries are often a good deal, but I recommend staying away from 
"rebuilt" batteries.  In my experience, usually the shop just drains the 
electrolyte, flushes out the sulfate sediment, and refills with fresh 
electrolyte.  They don't do anything to restore the depleted plates, so 
these batteries won't last very long.  They sure aren't worth 80% of the 
cost of a new battery!
