Greetings to all in the tractor/EGT fraternity.
First, let me say the  magic word: Burden's Surplus, ca.15th and west "O" Street, Lincoln.
They have DC perm.magnet mtrs. up the guzzoo.  Also stuff for us mechanical enganeering
types to go broke just getting out the door. Their catalogue I swear by, and the prices are not too high.  Three gents run the front counter, and they don;t like plastic card returns).  But for someone like our friend herein who mentions GM window mtrs., they would reign supreme.
Try em, you'll like 'em.
Carry on, my New Idea EGT200's lift motor works find.  It's the drive motor that won't turn or humm.  Neil says to ohm-it, and so I shall.
Luck to all of us, and those pictures of the 15 are gorgeous!  pw

Subject: (ET) Polarity and Lift Motor

Thanks to you people that told me how to hook up the 4 batteries under the
seat. The wires still had the numbers on them, though very difficult to read.
But even if they didn't, the directions were enough.
Next problem. I need a front mower power lift motor. The front mower lift
motor looks just like the power window motors from older GM autos. The GM
motors are made to take 12 volts. The ET motor takes 18 volts, I think. Would
this burn out the GM motors? Also, the ET motor has a 3 wire plug and the GM
motor has a 2 wire plug. Does anyone know how much a new ET lift motor would
cost?
