Tom, check your "open circuit" - i-e - unhook the transformer wires from
the diodes. I believe the transformer is center tapped so you should
have about 40+ volts AC from either wire to ground (center wire). If
not you have a transformer problem. Also, if you look at a replacement,
try and find an auto-shutoff, that will reduce the possibility of
overcharge that you have with the GE.
