Hi from another new ET member!

Speaking of dumb things you don't want to do:  Never, ever test the
motor on a Wheelhorse E-141 8 speed (six 12 volt bats. in two banks of
three) while in circuit. Unbeknown to me this model has a unique feature
in that the motor is directly shorted when at rest and I decided to test
the motor by directly connecting two # 10 wires to it. You haven't lived
till you have, not one, but two 12 volt batteries explode into a million
pieces sending mushroom clouds of acid vapor 40 feet  (at least) into
the air, one on each side of you. Happy testing! PS  somehow I wasn't
even touched (something about being at the epicenter!)
