I have to disagree, too.  We've had very little trouble with the ET's we 
have.
The usual repairs, of course, like new batteries, etc..  Our neighbors 
with gas
lawn tractors are always having trouble keeping the gas engine running, 
and they
all seem to get new tractors every 5-10 years.  Our ET's are 30 years old 
and
have not had any major service, ever.  Only in the last year or so have we
decided to do some significant maintenance.  Like paint, new transaxle 
fluid,
and maybe replacing the mower bearings.  Every time I use one, and it still
runs, I'm amazed all over again!
