I don't know if you have had replies, but note well that Curtis controllers
might be cheaper and easier, being domestic.  I bought a 275A, 36/48VDC
controller 4 years ago for my electric car project (see 'em both at
www.maxmatic.com/electcar.htm and www.maxmatic.com/maxion.htm ) and I have
been delighted. They seem to be in every electric golf cart from here to
Mexico for good reason.

Curtis can be found on the web, though I forget where. I got mine from
Electric Vehicles of America, great place, great proprietor (Bob Batson,
EVAmerica aol com)
