Re: games and skating in Dracut

FYI, a couple people said "tell me of this skating".  A bit more info:
1.  We live on a 70 acre pond that is sometimes great for skating.
2.  We don't have any skates, except possibly one pair or two pairs, but they haven't been unpacked yet.
3.  Despite putting this off until late January, it looks like the ice won't be thick enough to be safe.  I'll measure the thickness tomorrow or Wednesday, and again on Friday, but it currently looks doubtful.

Hi all,
Hoping many of you can join us on Saturday.  Unfortunately, it looks unlikely that the pond will be safe for skating.  It is frozen again, but there was a lot of open water last week, so the ice will probably not be thick enough by Saturday.

At the moment, the forecast guesses that it will be in the 30s, with maybe some rain in the afternoon.

So, we'll have to make do with games and socializing and such.  If it doesn't rain, maybe a small bon-fire.

ALSO - a couple people have indicated on the spreadsheet that they will need rides, and I assume folks can work that out among themselves.

See you Saturday!

Please join us at 70 Pine Tree Lane on Saturday January 25, for skating, games, camaraderie, extensive snacks, and maybe even hand-bells.

Skating is weather dependent, of course.

And if it is particularly nice, there is the option of a small bon-fire.

Arrive anytime after 1:00 pm or so.  Bring one or two favorite games, hand-bells if that appeals to you (we have one set of 8).

I've added a column to the ringing spreadsheet, but don't worry too much if you don't know in advance whether you will show up.

Hope you can make it!
