Groton updates and reminders
We have been given an extra half an hour for the Groton meeting, so
the new details are:
Saturday July 26th 10 AM until 12:30 PM with potluck picnic on the
grounds immediately afterward. If you're planning to share a dish,
please bring a list of ingredients - we have some
serious allergies among our ringers.
Following that, some people are heading into Boston to attempt
quarter peals, and some of us going for ice cream.
I've started organizing car pools from Alewife and (possibly)
Riverside T stations. Here are the school's directions, which differ
somewhat from the route many of us use (note that the school is *not* in
the center of Groton the town)

Commuter rail schedule to Ayer (the nearest stop). Please let me (or
someone) know if you're planning to come by rail, so pick-up/drop-off
can be arranged.

If some of the people from far away are coming to the Boston area on
Friday and/or leaving on Sunday, we can allocate crash space.
Goals for the ringing session:
1) *Safety* Be careful on the stairs. Stay hydrated. Use sensible
rope handling.
2) *Nice rounds* Lots of us don't get much chance to ring on ten, but
the ideal of pulling off in rounds and having well-struck rounds
throughout will be emphasized.
3) *All ringing will be on ten bells* If you want to try something
doubles or triples, let me know in advance, but it will have to be with
extra covers. The bulk of our ringing time will be devoted to rounds and
hunting (on 9 & 10). There will be some chances for Stedman Caters and
Surprise Royal [Bristol? Shall I (or someone) assign particular place
bells?]
Two weeks from tomorrow! Great excitement!
