<x-tad-smaller> The holidays are upon us (!), and with December comes a wonderful</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> opportunity for some 10-bell ringing in the two towers in our Nation's</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> Capital. The date is Saturday, December 8. There will be ringing at</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> Washington Cathedral from 10 AM to 12 Noon. Lunch can be at one of</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> the three great restaurants in the cathedral neighborhood, or in one</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> of several within walking distance of the Old Post Office, where we</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> will meet to ring from 2 PM to 4 PM.</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> We in Washington have been concentrating recently on good striking on</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> 10 bells -- a feat that is not easy to accomplish. We are eager to</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> share our bells with all of you, and hope that you will think about</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> perhaps giving Grandsire and Erin Caters, and Little Bob Royal a try.</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> Of course, we will also have some round, call changes, and ringing on</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> 8 and 6 bells (albeit with multiple covers, so we can keep all 10</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> bells ringing) -- something we hope can accommodate everyone who</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> attends. We look forward to having you join us, and challenge you to</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> come with a request to ring something that stretches you a bit. In</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> all that we ring, we will put emphasis on listening to one's bell as</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> it fits into the changes -- improving one's striking.</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> We hope that our plans for the day are an incentive for you to join us.</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> We will meet at the Cathedral's West End elevators at 10 am. The</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> bishop's wife will be having a reception in the Pilgrim Observation</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> Gallery (West End) beginning at 1 PM, so we must be out of the tower</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> shortly after 12 Noon. We will meet at the glass elevator in the Old</x-tad-smaller>
<x-tad-smaller> Post Office at 2 pm.</x-tad-smaller>
