About a week ago, I got a looking-for-themes e-mail from NPR's This
American
Life (I'm on their list; long story) and it mentioned that they were
interested in doing a show about Quiz Shows. I wrote back and suggested
that the Ultimate Quiz Show was probably the MIT Mystery Hunt.
Long story short: they're interested. So they'll be there at the hunt.
And
since I pitched the story---and mentioned that our team was sort of
friendly
and not viciously competitive---they'll probably be coming around to
interview a few of us. The producer is a woman named Julie Snyder, and the
actual reporter/interviewer would be a guy named Alex Bloomberg (or
Blumburg, or whatever; I haven't seen his name in print and forgot to ask).
They'll presumably be running all over the place covering various aspects
of the Hunt, so for all I know we might not see them at all. But if you
get a call or meet them, that's why.
