[Palindrome] I'm an MIT student, and I know about wireless
Hi Fellow Mystery Hunters!
For the person who asked whether there are any MIT students on the team,
yes, I
am a current MIT student. So I can help out with any MIT-related things
that
need doing. Also, Mike Korn is a recent MIT graduate and his knowledge of
the
campus is quite extensive (better than mine)!
As for wireless, all of the rooms we requested have full wireless access (I
checked). I'm willing to bet that pretty much all of the rooms on the
master
list have wireless access too-- MIT is a pretty well-connected place.
(For a
full list of wireless spots, see
http://web.mit.edu/network/wireless-locations.html).
It's easy to get connected to the MIT wireless network, even as a non-MIT
affiliate. You just enter any wireless coverage area, and when you open
Internet Explorer it will give you a registration page asking if you are a
student, a faculty member, or a visitor. If you click on "visitor," it
will
give you a registration form and ask how many days you want to be connected
for. You are allowed to connect for up to 14 days per year. After
submitting
that form, wait approximately 15 minutes and then you should be fully
connected
to the network and able to open other websites.
Hope this helps!
