I should have alerted people to this earlier.  On the apmultiples list
there is a "Reply-to" header so that if you ask your mailer to reply
to the sender of the message it goes instead to the list.  On the
nonsexist-parenting list, there is no such header.  Thus if you tell
your mailer to reply to sender only, then that is what you'll get.  If
you tell your mailer to reply to all, then your reply will go to the
list.  The advantages of this system are that your mailer is doing
what you tell it to do, and that messages like "Hi, Jane, nice to see
you here; let's get together." don't get sent to everyone by mistake.
But you do have to pay attention to what you are doing to get the
result you want.
