[Tufts-Nu] Tufts-Neutrinos: Meeting this Friday November 21st at 1:00 pm

Dear Tuftons,

We will meet as usual this Friday (November 21st) at 1:00 pm.

As is our tradition, sandwiches and beverages will be available

for in-person attendees.

As the result of sustained efforts by Jeremy Wolcott, Tufts has

been selected to host the NOvA Collaboration’s summer Meeting,

to be held June 8-12th, 2026 !

Time at the beginning of Friday’s meeting is allotted to thesis analysis

updates and discussion.    We will then here from Cullen Sullivan

who was Tufts only -in-person participant in the recent NOvA

Collaboration Meeting.    Cullen will report on developments

at the Meeting which are worthy of the attention of Tufts researchers

and which may serve as the focus of further discussions.

The `called shot’:

Hermann Grassmann – 1862:

"For I have every confidence that the effort I have applied to the science

reported upon here, which has occupied a considerable span of my lifetime

and demanded the most intense exertions of my powers, is not to be lost.

A time will come when it will be drawn forth from the dust of oblivion and

the ideas laid down here will bear fruit. . . Some day these ideas, even if in

an altered form, will reappear and with the passage of time will participate in

lively intellectual exchanges.”

Grassmann numbers used to express a path integral representation

for fermionic fields (F. A. Berezin ~ 1960).
